Ukraine came close to creating an air defense system with a 100-kilometer range

Ukraine came close to creating an anti-aircraft missile complex of its own production with a range of about 100 kilometers.

This was stated by Academician Volodymyr Horbulin and analyst Valentyn Badrak in an article for the Liga portal.

According to them, since 2016, Ukraine has three national air defense development projects.

They noted that at the end of 2023, the country “made significant progress” and came close to creating an air defense system with a range of about 100 km.

Analysts said that by March 2024, Ukraine has created five joint projects with Western defense companies, and investors from France, the Czech Republic and Sweden are ready to invest significantly.

“So the starting conditions exist – it's about hard work,” the article says.

Recall that the Ministry of Defense emphasized that in 2024, attention will be drawn to the production of air defense equipment – from conventional portable anti-aircraft missile systems for air defense systems with a range of over a hundred kilometers.
