Tesla Model S set a record for the distance covered by an electric car

There is an opinion that electric cars are not distinguished by durability. But the German Hansjorg Hemmingen-Hornberg managed to set a record on his Tesla Model S, driving more than two million kilometers. It was a long and very expensive way.

There was still no information about any electric car that would overcome the mark of 2 million kilometers traveled. In the case of the Tesla Model S, the historic moment was captured on video when the car owner traveled to Morocco.

Hansjorg Hemmingen-Hornberg bought a Tesla Model S P85 in 2014. At that time, the car had a mileage of 30 thousand kilometers. Just last December, this electric car drove 1.9 million kilometers. At that time, it was known about 13 replacements of electric motors. No word yet on whether any repairs have been made since then. In addition, there is no exact information on battery replacement, but the owner says that after 150,000 kilometers, the capacity drops by about 8%.
