5 Disappointing Movies Saved By One Crazy Scene

Here, we are obviously not talking about potential turkeys. These are fundamentally not bad films. We will rather talk about average films, passable, in any case disappointing compared to the rest of their franchise. Here are 5 forgettable films, but that we would like to save for a striking sequence:

Quantum of Solace

So clearly, Quantum of Solace is not definitively a bad film. Far from it. But within the 007 saga led by Daniel Craig, it is the least appreciated opus by critics and spectators alike. With an average of around 3.1/5 on AlloCiné (average of the press and spectators), it is the lowest rated film of the pentalogy. However, we are very far from being a bad film. The proof is in this totally crazy sequence, at the opera, where Bond eliminates numerous assailants in corridors, in an elevator, before taking pictures of all the members of Spectreduring the show. The editing is great, the staging is precise, the choreography is ultra impressive and the production is of exemplary fluidity. It's fun, well-paced, muscular and it works like a charm. We could also have mentioned the opening sequence with this totally crazy car chase.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Okay, we know that both Fantastic Four movies by Tim Story are widely criticized. However, when we compare them with the opus by Josh Trank, considering the time they were released, we could possibly review them upwards. In any case, there is a sequence that marked us in The Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, it is when Johnny Storm chases the Silver Surfer. A rhythmic sequence, well done, sprinkled with an unforgettable slow motion on the silver antagonist. It is fun and still 15 years later we remember it.

X-Men: Apocalypse

Released in 2016, X-Men: Apocalypse is quite simply one of the worst < strong>X-Men of the license. Even if he fights with X-Men Origins: Wolverine, New Mutants and Dark Phoenix. In fact, of the 4 cities, it is perhaps the least bad. But Bryan Singer, the director, had accustomed us to better. In the X-Men license alone, the filmmaker had offered masterclasses like X-Men 2 and X-Men: Days of Future Past. But with Apocalypse, he gets his feet tangled in the carpet. However, we will remember the entire sequence around Wolverinewho escapes from the Weapon X complex. A wild Wolverine, a Hugh Jackman back in the role shortly before his (fake) farewell in Logan, a sequence much more violent than the rest of the film. We love it.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

Released in 2017 under the direction of the duo Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg, Pirates of the Caribbean 5 is obviously the least appreciated opus of the pentalogy. Johnny Depp is back as Jack Sparrow, in a part that seeks to stand out from the others. But this fifth chapter was chopped up by Disney. Initially, Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg wanted to direct two films. But their plot was condensed into one, which gives an unpleasant feeling of narrative hodgepodge. We will nevertheless remember the excellent sequence of the guillotine, funny, comical, offbeat, creative, which fits perfectly into the essence of the saga Pirates of the Caribbean.

< h2>Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones

Released in 2002, Attack of the Clones is undoubtedly the worst part of all the Star Wars license (with Solo: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars IX). Realized by George Lucas, the feature film has mostly disappointed fans because it focuses mainly on the romance between Anakin and Padmé. It is a talkative film, a silly love story, a plot that is too long and disjointed. In fact, it is sad to say, but we are bored stiff in front of this often superficial part. Fortunately, the end of the film saves the work from sinking. How can we forget the Battle of Geonosis? How can we forget this whole exciting segment in the arena? An epic, action-packed sequence featuring iconic characters from Obi-Wan and Jango Fett to Mace Windu and Count Dooku. A cult segment often cited by fans of the Star Wars universe.
