Hand washing timer

Apple added this feature after the start of the global pandemic. Thanks to it, the watch automatically tracks the time spent washing your hands and prompts if the process lasts less than the recommended 20 seconds. 

Built-in sensors track hand movements, the microphone picks up the sound of water. Based on the data, the start of the process is recorded and a timer is started. It is activated through the settings, you need to run the «Handwashing» program and turn on the timer.

Flashlight

Apple Watch has more than just a flashlight, it can be used in several modes. You can turn it on through the Control Center by tapping the flashlight icon. There will be three glow options in the window:

Draining water from the speaker

Apple Watch has a standard of protection against moisture or can withstand short-term immersion in water. However, after any contact with water, it may remain inside the speaker, which leads to a deterioration in its performance. 

Such a function was developed specifically for such situations. When activated, the watch emits sound waves that push out the liquid. To clean the speaker, select the water drop icon in the Control Center and turn the digital crown.

Environmental noise monitoring

One of the health check functions. The gadget constantly monitors the level of environmental noise in the background using the built-in microphone. When it exceeds the permissible level, the watch notifies its owner. 

The function is especially useful for those who work in noisy industries or often spend time in crowded places. The setting is carried out through the Watch application for iPhone. In the menu, you need to select the Noise threshold item and set the noise level in decibels, as well as enable notifications.
