20+ smartphones will no longer receive updates in 2024: list of devices published

This year, Xiaomi will stop updating support for budget smartphones and tablets, as well as for devices that have not been used particularly popular.

Many Xiaomi smartphones, Redmi and POCO, will receive the last update of the HyperOS operating system in 2024, warns the resource Hyper OS Updates.

Xiaomi bases its update policy on the price of smartphones and their sales volume. In other words, the more expensive the phone and the larger the circulation, the more likely it will receive an update. In 2024, the company plans to update HyperOS for some “unpopular” and low-cost models for the last time.

Not only have these devices not received the HyperOS 1.0 update, some of them have not even received the MIUI 14 update. Xiaomi is stopping the update support for these devices as it may lead to performance issues as these budget smartphones have weak processors.
