On October 7, the US Department of Defense announced that the State Department had approved the potential sale to India of light Mark 54 torpedoes and related support worth a total of $175 million. It is reported on the website of the Agency for Defense and Security Cooperation.
India requested a total of 53 MK 54 MOD light torpedoes, as well as non-main equipment items. These include REXTORP training torpedoes, air launch equipment, spare parts, torpedo containers, support tools and training services.
