10 mangas that reassure about the future of Shōnen Jump after the end of Jujutsu Kaisen

With the end of My Hero Academia and  Jujutsu Kaisen in just a few weeks,  manga fans are wondering about the survival of Weekly Shōnen Jump, Japan's most famous publishing magazine. How will the magazine, which has seen the birth of such cult series as Dragon Ball, City Hunter, Ranma 1/2, One Piece, Naruto and Bleach survive with the end of two of its most popular series in quick succession? We answer this thorny question with ten series currently published in Jump.

#1 DanDaDan, by Yukinobu Tatsu

Mixing aliens, ghosts and romcom, DanDaDan is the series that crystallizes all the hopes of manga fans. While the animated series produced by Science Saru has just started on Netflix and ADN, we highly recommend you to jump on this masterclass, packed with action and humor. DanDaDandraws its main strength from the alchemy between its two protagonists, Momo – granddaughter of a medium – and Okarun – a shy young nerd fan of extraterrestrials. There is no doubt that the animated series will boost the sales and the aura of this manga at don't miss it!

We obviously don't need to introduce Chainsaw Man, whose adaptation by the MAPPA studio was warmly welcomed by fans. Denji's adventures have entered a new cycle with volume 12. Still as thrilling and fun, Chainsaw Man has managed to renew itself with new characters as endearing as they are crazy. We hope that a third cycle will be launched by master Fujimoto. On the anime side, we remind you that the Reze arc will be adapted into an animated film by the MAPPA studio.

#3 Sakamoto Days, by Yuto Suzuki

When Taro Sakamoto, a legendary assassin, falls in love, he decides to put away his weapons for good and open a neighborhood grocery store. Its particularly amusing scenario is not the only strength of Sakamoto Days; Yuto Suzuki impresses in his many action scenes, taking full advantage of both the charisma of his main character and the settings. We highly recommend you to discover Chef Otaku's video on this gem. As a reminder, an animated series produced by TMS Entertainment will arrive on Netflix in January 2025. We can't wait!

A genius blacksmith, Chihiro Rokuhira's father forged six magical and legendary katanas that changed the world. The katakanas have been stolen, the blacksmith murdered. His son decides to take revenge by finding the katanas and the killers. Impressed by the sword fights, Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto) and Kohei Horikoshi (My Hero Academia) both highly recommended Kagurabachi, which won the Next Manga Awards in August 2024. A little gem, published in France by Kana. An animated series is already planned.

#5 Hunter x Hunter, by Yoshihiro Togashi

Published in theWeekly Shōnen Jumpsince 1998,Hunter x Hunteris of course one of the most popular manga in the world. Since 2008, the publication of the manga has been rather erratic, due to the back problems suffered by Yohishiro Togashi. However, a few weeks ago, we learned that the father of Yu Yu Hakusho had gotten ahead of the manga with about ten chapters written, drawn and inked.. Despite his health problems, Togashi-sama continues to offer chapters that are eagerly awaited by fans. While we obviously want to thank him warmly for this, we hope that he will take care of himself.
