Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has survived more than 12 separate attempts on his life by Russian forces since the outbreak of the war in February 2022.
This, with reference to “ Ukrainian officials” according to Chris Whipple's book “The Battle of His Life: Inside the White House of Joe Biden (Whipple — author of books about the administrations of various US presidents), writes the Independent.
“Intelligence was so detailed that helped Zelenskiy's security forces prevent two separate Russian attempts on his life”, — writes Whipple.
In addition, it is noted that CIA Director Bill Burns, during a visit to Ukraine, warned Zelensky about the threat of assassination at a secret meeting before the Russian invasion.
He came to Kyiv before the start of the war to inform Zelensky about the Russian plan to assassinate him and “test the reality” in which Zelensky lived, because the attitude of the President of Ukraine to the US warnings was rather unusual.
According to Whipple, Biden instructed the CIA director — former US Ambassador to Russia — provide Zelensky with “the exact details of the Russian plots”:
” This immediately caught Zelensky's attention; he was stunned", sobered by this news.
