Talking about easing sanctions against Russia can only start when the Russian army leaves the territory of Ukraine.
This said in an interview with CNN, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
“We can't lift sanctions, we can't negotiate with Russia, we can't have a substantive dialogue with Russia until they leave our territory,” he said.
According to Zelensky, this is where you can start a dialogue about the weakening or lifting of sanctions, reparations, and so on.
"Anything after that – you can talk about the sanctions policy, the lifting of certain sanctions, reparations, compensation money, about diplomacy, about dialogue. All this can be done at the level of the presidents of all states, any institutions, and with anyone from the Russian Federation, if they have withdrawn from our territories. This is then the point from which a new history begins”, – the Ukrainian leader believes.
Zelensky added that Ukraine has no way out and this is not its weakness, but its strength, in Russia, unlike Ukraine has a choice.
"Russia has a way out– go home. We only have this house, where do we go? We have nowhere to go. The question is not how long it (the war, – ed.) will be, but how much more is needed, – added the president, specifying, answering the journalist's questions, that Ukraine will fight to the end.
