“You have to go through me”: the Ukrainian boxer before the fight threatened the world champion from the USA
Viktor Postol wants to become a double world champion and puts in the forefront the money
The first Ukrainian boxer who this year will fight for the champion’s belt should be Viktor Postol. 36-year-old athlete from great Dymerka in August should converge in the ring with the American Jose Carlos Ramirez. He owns the WBC and WBO titles at Welterweight (up to 63.5 kg). Recently coach Postol called it the edge in battle with the champion from the USA.
Recently, Ramirez spoke about his plans for future fights, implying that he had already won the Postol. What Ukrainian rather sharply responded. His words are quoted boxingscene.com:
“Today many say that Ramirez after Postol will meet with WBA and IBF champion Josh Taylor. But above all, he must beat me. I have enough experience, I fought with great boxers. And if Ramirez beat me in the ring, that add value and experience. But first he has to pass me to talk about a future fight with Taylor.
My motivation number one is to prove that a is not right, and become the world champion. This is the main goal of my career: I want to become a double world champion. And no matter what kind of belt. Of course, I want to fight in big fights for good money, but it is not important to me.”
In mid-June, we wrote that the Ukrainian boxer in Los Angeles, met a countryman, and a famous coach and is preparing for the championship battle.
