What will the book be about?
So, what awaits us in the continuation of the adventures of Joe Goldberg? The novel shouldn't necessarily follow the series, but as a precaution, don't read on if you don't like spoilers.
In the 2nd novel, Joe ended up in jail, with evidence mounting against him, while Love was pregnant with their child. Surprise, he will be free in the future … and without Love! After New York and Los Angeles, he will have moved to the Pacific Northwest of the United States and will want to start a family. While working in a bookstore, he will meet Mary Kay DiMaco, also a bookseller. Joe will then try to seduce her but this time without the stalker (but of course …) and will discover that she is already a mother.
It remains to be seen whether the writers of the series will go in a completely different direction or if they will be inspired by the book (Caroline Kepnes is also the producer of the show) to write the story of season 3. In the series, the Season 2 ended with Love, who is pregnant, and Joe moving into a bustling neighborhood. In the last scene, Joe seemed to find his new target: his neighbor. Penn Badgley has previously denied a popular fan theory that suggested Joe's new neighbor was in fact his mother. To discover his identity, we will still have to wait.
