While the mayor of Anguía, José Medina, will be taken to Ancón I Prison. Both will serve 30 months in preventive detention for investigating a criminal organization that Pedro Castillo would lead.

Yenifer Paredes, sister-in-law of President Pedro Castillo, was transferred on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 31, to the Chorrillos Women's Prison where she will serve the 30 months of preventive detention that was issued in the framework of the investigation that is being carried out on her for allegedly integrating a criminal organization entrenched in the Executive and that would be led by the head of state.

The mayor of Anguía José Medina Guerero, investigated within the same criminal network and for whom preventive detention was also issued for the same period of time, will be held in the Ancón I Prison. This was decided by the Technical Classification Board of the National Penitentiary Institute (Inpe).

Both the sister of the first lady, Lilia Paredes, and the mayor of Anguía, < /i>They had been in the Lima Prison located in the Ancón II Prison since early Monday morning, after Judge Johnny Gómez Balboa concluded that they should face the investigation under a preventive detention order.

The magistrate made that decision by determining that there was a level of serious suspicion regarding the crimes they are accused of, in addition to the danger of escape and obstruction in the investigation by Paredes Navarro and Medina Guerrera.

In the case of the sister of the first lady, Lilia Paredes, the magistrate indicated that he had taken into account that she was not found in the Government Palace when the authorities went to capture her, despite the fact that intelligence reports indicated that he was in that place.

In addition, he pointed out the loss of the videos from the surveillance cameras of the day of the search proceeding to the presidential residence for the location and capture of the investigated.

Paredes and Medina are investigated for the alleged crimes of criminal organization, money laundering assets, influence peddling, among others.
