Ukrainian athlete Yaroslava Maguchih set a new world record. She managed to jump to a height of 2.10 meters on the first attempt.

Please note that the previous record, set by the Bulgarian Stefka Kostadinova, lasted 37 years. Yaroslava Maguchih, by the way, also broke her own record on July 7, writes Suspilne Sport.

During the Diamond League in Paris on July 7, 2024, Yaroslava demonstrated her record jump. First, she broke her own record by reaching 2.07 meters on her second attempt, and then surpassed that achievement by jumping 2.10 meters on her first attempt. After her successful jump, she happily bounced around the stadium, expressing her happiness.

“When I first started the competition, I had a feeling that I could jump 2.07 meters and maybe even 2.10 meters. Finally, I entered Ukraine into the history of world athletics,” Yaroslava said, expressing her gratitude to the Ukrainian soldiers, thanks to which she has the opportunity to do sports.

After the historic jump, the native of Dnipro ran to her coach Tetyana Stepanova, hugged and kissed her on the cheek.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi also congratulated Yaroslava and her team on setting a new world record .

Finally, we note that Yaroslava Maguchih set a national and world record in women's high jump, surpassing the achievements of Stefka Kostadinova , who jumped 2.09 meters in 1987.
