X-Files Excluded: Chris Carter Will Not Be In Ryan Coogler's 'Reimagining' Of The Series

The creator of Mulder and Scully gives us some details about the new X-Files release.
X-Files is back (again). After seasons 10 and 11 aired between 2016 and 2018, we thought the series was dead and buried. But yesterday, Chris Carter spoke on the Canadian radio show On the Coast having “just talked to a young man, Ryan Coogler, who is going to get X -Files with a diverse cast. So he's going to have a hell of a job, because we've already covered a lot ” in the paranormal field. He believes that Coogler will have to change his focus to get out of it: “The X-Files was based on a central conspiracy, but now there are conspiracies everywhere. I think it should be a whole different series.”
No details on the nature of the project (Are we in the same universe as Mulder and Scully? Is it a sequel? outright reboot? Will the heroes still be FBI agents?), but Premiere reached out to Chris Carter to find out more.
Laconique, the creator of X-Files explains to us all the same that the development of this “ reinvention” is only at the very beginning. And he assures that he “not be involved” in this new version of the series. Besides, Carter doesn't believe the original cast – including Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny – will be returning, so it would be an all-new cast.
If the project moves forward, we should quickly hear from Ryan Coogler. The X-Files will celebrate 30 years since its first airing in the United States this year.
