Woman sentenced to 11 years for collaborating with Russian military intelligence

A Kharkiv resident who carried out tasks for a Russian military intelligence officer has been sentenced to 11 years in prison. The woman will also not be able to hold positions in state authorities, local governments and bodies providing public services for 15 years

This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, RegioNews.

It is noted that the woman, using a social network banned in our country, offered cooperation to a Russian citizen who is a military correspondent and is involved by the aggressor country in conducting information operations against Ukraine.

From January to April 2024, the convict collected and transmitted information to a Russian journalist about the conduct of mobilization and counter-sabotage measures in the territory of Kharkiv. She reported on the operation of air defense systems and the consequences of the Russian missile strikes on the city.

In her correspondence, she also denied the fact of the Russian armed aggression against Ukraine and claimed that the Russian authorities were forced to initiate military action.

Law enforcement officers uncovered the illegal activity and detained the woman. She was awaiting the court's verdict in custody.
