Two of the best pilots of the Russian army, Lieutenant Colonel Maxim Potemin and Colonel Anatoly Stasyukevich, were eliminated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As he writes Daily Mail, they died in a HIMARS strike near Donetsk.
“Two of Putin's best pilots were killed by a HIMARS missile in Ukraine, while the Russian leadership says they are not changing anything at the front. Maxim Potemin, 41, a fighter pilot with the rank of lieutenant colonel, died after a precision rocket attack on his motorcade in Donetsk on 8 July. It is believed that 54-year-old Colonel Anatoly Stasyukevich, also a fighter pilot, was eliminated as a result of the same attack, – writes the publication.
Potemin's death from a HIMARS strike was reported by his father Alexei.
"My son's car was hit by a HIMARS missile", – he told the local media.
Potemin was married and had two children — 15 year old son and 8 year old daughter. He was posthumously awarded “for selfless deeds and valor”.
Stasyukevich was the chief of staff of the 1st Guards Baranovichi Red Banner Mixed Aviation Division. He was a third generation military pilot. Their unit was based in Krymsk, Krasnodar Territory.
“NASA data shows that the number of artillery used in the Donbass has declined markedly over the past two weeks, while Putin's troops have achieved very little territorial gain. This freed the Ukrainian troops for attacks elsewhere, especially in the south near Kherson, where a large counter-offensive is being prepared, & ndash; writes the publication.
