The commander of the tank crew named Vitaly shared in a conversation with Lieutenant Serhii Lipko that he first met Challenger 2 two years ago. He noted that the weight of the tank is 64 tons, but with additional armor it increases to 78 tons.
“The tank is designed for four crew members: a driver-mechanic, a commander, a gunner and a loader,” said Vitaly.
In the video you can see that there is not much space inside the tank, but the layout of the Challenger 2 is designed so that each crew member has access to all the necessary equipment.
The military also showed that there is an electric kettle and a multicooker in place for the charger.
“During work, our mother (charger) can make us coffee or heat up food,” he explained.
In addition, there is even a toilet in the tank. Vitaliy said that it is located under the seat of the tank loader.
