Wimbledon-2023: Svitolina beat world No. 1 Schwiontek and advanced to the semifinals

On Tuesday, July 11, a quarter-final match took place, in which Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina and Polish representative Iga Swiontek played, ua-football.com reports.

The match lasted 2 hours and 40 minutes. During this time, Svitolina made 5 aces, 8 double faults and realized 6 out of 9 break points. In turn, Shviontek served 3 overhand serves, made 3 doubles and realized 3 out of 9 breaks.

Thanks to this victory, the score of personal meetings became equal (1:1).

In the semifinal match Elina Svitolina will play against Marketa Vondroushova from the Czech Republic. Both tennis players are not seeded at the current Wimbledon tournament.

Ukraine's highest achievement at Wimbledon is the semifinals of 2019. Then Elina lost to former world number one Simona Halep.
