In Ukraine, after the free customs clearance of euro plates is canceled from July 1, 2022, used cars will rise in price by about 20-30%. This opinion is shared by analysts of the Ukrainian Institute of Automotive Research, writes today.ua.
Analysts specified that most popular models will rise in price by 20-30%. Prices may vary for other models.
A report from the Automotive Research Institute says, that after the abolition of free customs clearance of cars with foreign numbers, it will not be financially profitable to import them from abroad. Therefore, Ukrainians will dramatically less buy europlates abroad. Only a few thousand cars with foreign registration will be imported into Ukraine every month, as before.
This will be affected by the decrease in the purchasing power of Ukrainians due to the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian occupation troops, the rise in the price of cars abroad (due to the crisis in the automotive industry and the shortage of new cars), the rise in price and change in the logistics of delivering cars (mainly here we are talking we are talking about cars from the USA and South Korea).
The depreciation of the hryvnia will also negatively affect the purchasing power of Ukrainians (as long as the NBU continues to maintain the hryvnia against the dollar).
