The Polish striker was injured with his team during the match against Andorra on Sunday, March 28, corresponding to the qualifying phase of the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Lewandowski scored two goals but ended up leaving the field with joint discomfort.
“Robert Lewandowski suffered a sprained ligament in his right knee. The FC Bayern forward will be absent for around four weeks,” the club explained in a statement posted on its social networks.
The knee injury has caused him to miss the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals against PSG, Since the first leg is played on April 7 at the Allianz Arena and the return on April 13 at the Parc des Princes.
