Paid maternity leave is provided for:
- 126 calendar days (70 days before delivery and 56 after), and in case of complications during childbirth or the birth of two or more children – 14 calendar days of vacation are additionally provided;
- 180 calendar days (90 before childbirth and 90 after) for women classified as 1-3 categories of persons affected by the Chernobyl disaster.
The PFC noted that it is calendar days that are calculated.
Maternity assistance is provided in an amount that compensates for 100% of the average salary.
The amount of benefit for one day of maternity leave is calculated by dividing earnings for the last 12 months preceding the month of the occurrence of the insured event, by the number of calendar days of employment.
The amount of payments of women entrepreneurs depends on the amount of the unified social contribution that they paid over the past year.
The PFC explained that the billing period (12 months) does not take into account calendar days not worked for good reasons:
- temporary disability;
- maternity leave, leave to care for a child until he reaches the age of three and six years of age on a medical report;
- leave without pay;
- suspension of the employment contract in connection with Russia's military aggression against Ukraine.< /li>
