Who can be considered unfit for military service

Ukrainian legislation obliges military medical commissions to determine the level of suitability of conscripts for military service to the service.
They are guided by a clear list of diseases that allow us to draw a conclusion about unfitness, said lawyer Yury Kostinyuk.
According to the Order of the Ministry of Defense No. 402 of August 14, 2008 “On the Approval of the Regulations on Military Medical Expertise in the Armed Forces of Ukraine” There is a significant list of illnesses that entitle conscripts to be dismissed from service. Such a right is granted for the following basic conditions:
- eye diseases;
- hearing diseases;
- some infectious and parasitic diseases;
- illness of the nervous system;
- tuberculosis;
- oncological diseases (malignant and benign neoplasm); >infectious diseases of the digestive system and skin;
- sexually transmitted disease;
- human immunodeficiency virus;
- circulatory system disease; of blood and hematopoietic organs;
- diseases of the respiratory system;
- diseases and pathologies of the genitourinary system;
- illness of the endocrine system;
- illness of bone muscular system;
- hepatitis;
- sick digestive system

The lawyer notes that the VEC does not have the right to recognize a citizen as suitable if he has such diseases, but sometimes they ignore the presence of complex diagnoses in conscripts.
