According to legend, during one of the enemy attacks, believers gathered in the Blacherna Church, where they prayed for the intercession of the Mother of God. In response, the Virgin Mary herself appeared to them, who covered them with her veil and protected them from death. This is how this celebration was born, which has been preserved in the Christian tradition to this day.

Despite the change in the calendar, the essence of the holiday remains unchanged. On this day, believers should visit the church, pray for health, protection and family well-being. In prayers, you can ask for help in important life matters.
