I am looking for an electric vehicle, preferably an SUV. I read your Mercedes-Benz EQC test drive, but the dealer in my area told me that this model is not available in Canada. Do you know if it will ever be marketed here?
Mercedes-Benz’s marketing strategy with the EQC is strange to say the least! After having made the unveiling at Consumer Electronics Show in January 2019, Mercedes invited The Car Guide to a first test of this electric vehicle on the roads of Norway, in May of the same year. We were then presented with the EQC not as a concept, but as a 2020 model year production vehicle.

We had discovered a very interesting vehicle, with a very popular format (similar to that of the GLC), remarkable technological integration and an announced electric range of around 400 kilometers.
A few months later, however, we learned that the marketing of the model in North America was delayed due to strong demand in other markets elsewhere in the world. We were then told that the vehicle would arrive on our roads in 2021.
We are now in 2021, and Mercedes still has no date to give us. The German automaker is now announcing that the first all-electric vehicle to be sold in Canada will not be the EQC, but the luxury sedan EQS, whose production model has not even been revealed yet.
In short, the chances of the EQC arriving at dealerships this year are very low. However, Mercedes-Benz assures that it will one day be available with us. It remains to be seen when …
