What to do if a “black screen of death” appears on your iPhone: instructions

Try force restarting your device first. To do this, quickly press the volume up button, then – reduction. After that, hold down the side button until the Apple logo appears.

If rebooting didn't help, go to computer recovery. You will need the Apple Devices app for Windows or the Finder on macOS. Connect the smartphone via a USB cable and launch the desired application. In the settings, select the “Restore iPhone” option. It is important to have a backup copy of the data, because the process will clear the device's memory.

A more complicated method – using recovery mode. Connect the iPhone to the computer, press the volume buttons in sequence and hold the side button. Wait for the corresponding screen to appear. The program will offer to update the system or restore the device.
