We tested the autonomy of the iPhone 16 Pro Max smartphone against other flagships: who came out the winner

Apple smartphones, especially the Pro Max models, are known for their excellent battery life, and this year the company promises even better performance – up to 4 additional hours of video playback. The TechDroider portal conducted testing to check how the new iPhone 16 Pro Max copes in comparison with other flagships.

Recall that the iPhone 16 Pro Max is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 4685 mAh (for comparison, the 15 Pro Max – 4441 mAh). The following competitors were chosen to test its performance: Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (5000 mAh), Google Pixel 9 Pro XL (5060 mAh), OnePlus 12 (5400 mAh) and Xiaomi 14 Pro (4880 mAh). All devices were configured in the same way and subjected to the same tasks.

First, the game was launched on each smartphone PUBG New State for 3 hours, after which the remaining charge was as follows:

  • iPhone 16 Pro Max: 73% at 37.4 °C
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max : 68% at 38.5 °C
  • Galaxy S24 Ultra: 62% at 40.6 °C
  • Pixel 9 Pro XL: 56% at 41, 8 °C
  • OnePlus 12: 62% at 41 °C
  • Xiaomi 14 Pro: 58% at 41.5 °C

After 3 hours of gaming and 3 hours of video viewing, the autonomy results were as follows:

  • Pixel 9 Pro XL: 10 hours 2 minutes
  • Xiaomi 14 Pro: 10 hours 3 minutes
  • OnePlus 12: 10 hours 28 minutes
  • Galaxy S24 Ultra: 10 hours 32 minutes
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max: 11 hours 1 minute
  • iPhone 16 Pro Max: 11 hours 30 minutes

The results showed that the iPhone 16 Pro Max continues to be the leader in terms of battery life among flagship smartphones.
