Chicken shawarma

Shawarma is a familiar fast food for many Ukrainians. After all, it is easy and quick to prepare. However, we suggest you try a slightly different recipe for this dish this time.

There are never too many delicious chicken recipes. Today I am sharing a spicy and juicy recipe that everyone will definitely remember and like, – writes Olga Ryabenko.

Ingredients:

  • Chicken thigh – 5-6 pieces;

  • Onion – 1 pc;
  • Potato – 1 pc.

Marinade for chicken:

  • Greek yogurt – 2 tablespoons;
  • Paprika – 1 tsp;
  • Chili flakes – ⅓ tsp;
  • Svan salt – 1 tsp;
  • Salt, pepper – to taste;
  • Garlic – 5 cloves;
  • Juice of ½ lemon.

Butter glaze:

  • Melted butter – 60 g;
  • Zest of ½ lemon;
  • Juice of ½ lemon;
  • Parsley or cilantro – 1 tbsp.

Cooking process:

1. Add all the marinade ingredients to the meat. Cover with cling film and leave to marinate for 30 minutes.

2. Thread ½ onion onto wooden or metal skewers, add meat and onion again.

3. Cut one side of the potato and place skewers with meat on it.

4. Send to an oven heated to 180° for 40 minutes.

5. Melt the butter, add all the ingredients for the glaze and grease the meat.

6. Send back to the oven for 10 minutes.
