Women have taken the brunt of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in terms of providing for their families.
The first lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska said this in an interview with CNN.
“Women have taken the brunt of this war in terms of making sure their families are okay, their kids are okay, their kids are safe. Mothers and grandmothers intervened to protect them", – she said.
As the first lady noted, the war has torn apart more than half of the families in Ukraine, including she cannot see her husband, President Volodymyr Zelensky, every day.
" ;Sometimes you say it's cool when your spouse is president. You can see it on the TV screen and make sure everything is fine with it. But we in the family miss each other, I miss my husband", – said the first lady.
Zelenskaya stressed that today's life of Ukrainians cannot be considered normal. But even in such circumstances, people try to continue to live, work and sometimes joke.
