War of machines without people: robot dog and UAV staged a shootout in China (video)

The drones used fireworks instead of real weapons, making the battle even more spectacular.

A video went viral on the Chinese social network Weibo, where a large quadcopter and a robot socaba staged a fight. It has sparked much discussion about how drone warfare will change, reports the South China Morning Post.

In the video, the drone began firing fireworks at a robotic dog on the ground, which tried to dodge, responding with the same pyrotechnic shots from a device mounted on its back. At some point, the aerial drone began circling around the ground drone, forcing it to maneuver and react to the new threat.

Judging by its appearance, the UAV in the video — is a DJI T-series agricultural copter, and the robot dog — Go series model from Chinese robot manufacturer Unitree Robotics from Hangzhou.

It is unclear whether the machines were remotely controlled or operated autonomously. The Chinese did not disclose the location where the video was shot.

In the comments, people from China and other countries give the video historical significance.
