Wanted to sell a person for UAH 10,000: a man was detained in Khmelnytskyi

Ukrainian law enforcement agencies detained a man who tried to sell a person in order to involve him in begging in Kyiv. He threatened physical violence to a citizen who is a disabled person of the third group. This was reported in the Prosecutor General's Office.

According to the investigation, a resident of Khmelnytskyi region tried to take advantage of the vulnerable state of a local resident. He planned to transfer a person with a disability of the third group to beg in the capital. When this man refused, he threatened him with physical violence. For the transfer of this person, he received from the “customer” the amount of 10,000 hryvnias.

The perpetrator stated that he is ready to continue searching for citizens who belong to socially vulnerable categories. The pseudo-businessman was detained and informed about the suspicion of human trafficking (according to Part 1 of Article 149 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). All the circumstances of the crime and the persons involved in it are established. The pre-trial investigation continues.
