Wall Street Rises After Reports of Trump's Health Improvement

(Reuters) – Major Wall Street indices jumped on Monday, recovering from a sharp drop in the previous session after US President Donald Trump's doctors said his health was improving and he could be discharged from the hospital and returned to the White House at Monday.

Investor sentiment also improved after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Sunday announced progress in talks with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on new measures to bolster the economy.

By 18.24 Moscow time, the Dow Jones rose 1.37% to 28.063.34 points, the S&P 500 added 1.47% to 3.397.56 points, and the Nasdaq rose 1.77% to 11.271.48 points.

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc jumped 6.0% after Trump's doctor said the US president was being treated with a dual-antibody drug, Regeneron.

Shares of major tech companies including Apple Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL), Nvidia Corp (NASDAQ: NVDA), Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ: AMZN) and Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ: MSFT) are up 0.5% to 1.9% %.
