According to the Chairman of the State Duma Viacheslav Volodin, Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov urgently needs to resolve the issue of salaries in universities. Recall that at one time, President Vladimir Putin decided to increase the salary of employees of higher education: it should be two averages for the region's economy.
In reality, the situation was not in favor of teachers: some assistants and associate professors could receive 10-15 times less rectors and vice-rectors. The current salary in the range of 30-70 thousand rubles motivates a small number of people, given that the rector receives from 300 thousand to 1 million rubles. Volodin proposes adding a clause to the rector's award, according to which payments will be made if other employees of the ordinary teaching staff can count on a salary increase.
Falkov completely agrees with this, noting that his department has already studied the situation in subordinate higher educational institutions. Soon the rectors' awards will be adjusted according to Volodin's proposal.
