Vladimir Putin dealt with the developers of hypersonic technologies: another scientist-engineer was sentenced

The security forces of the Russian Federation are actively “purging” physicists who were engaged in military developments, especially in the field of hypersonic technologies.

The St. Petersburg court sentenced Anatoly Maslov. He held the position of chief researcher at the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Currently, he was accused of treason and sentenced to fourteen years in a strict regime colony, informs UAINFO.org  with reference to The Moscow Times.

It is noteworthy that Maslov, who is now 77 years old, was engaged in research in the field of aerodynamics , was arrested in 2022. Then he was staged in Moscow's “Lefortovo” pre-trial detention center.

According to the information published by Academ.info, the scientist was accused of having passed data on hypersonic technologies to representatives of the People's Republic of China. Maslov and his colleague, Oleksandr Shiplyuk, who at that time is the director of ITPM, presented an experimental design of hypersonic rockets on the sidelines of a scientific seminar in France in 2012. Four years after that, he published the corresponding work.

It is noteworthy that in addition to Maslov, Shpylyuk was also detained (in August 2022). He was accused under a similar article of “treason”.
