Alexander Todd, professor of pediatrics at the named university, said several studies were published in early May this year. They prove that people who are deficient in vitamin D in their bodies are more likely to contract the coronavirus. The scientist denied this position, stating that we are talking about a misconception, thanks to which vitamin D was turned into a miracle vitamin. Patients with cancer also have low vitamin D levels. The reasoning is confusing, he said. Appropriate randomized studies of this vitamin are just beginning. There is no database yet to conclude that this element prevents asthma or cancer. It is found in fatty fish, eggs, liver, and is also absorbed by sunlight.
Various vitamin D supplements are available on the market, however, overdose can cause kidney and liver problems. Large doses can deposit calcium in the bones, which crystallizes in the urine to form kidney stones, which can cause kidney disease.
