VILA-REAL (EFE). Villarreal, who face Dinamo Zagreb in the quarterfinals of the Europa League, are the only Spanish side that the Croatian team has been able to beat in their fourteen meetings.
Dinamo have faced Spanish teams up to fourteen times, with Villarreal, Sevilla, Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona as rivals and with a balance of eleven defeats, two draws and a victory with 33 goals against and 9 in favor.
The victory against Villarreal (2-0) was achieved in September 2010 in the group stage of the Europa League with goals from Rukavina and Sammir.
A victory that the Spanish team would later avenge by winning La Cerámica 3-0 with two goals from Rossi, one from a penalty, and one from Marco Ruben.
To find the first confrontation against a Spanish team, you have to go back to the Fairs Cup of the 61-62 season when Barcelona endorsed a 7-3 overall, while to locate the most transcendent you have to reach the final of the Copa de Fairs of 62-63 and in which Valencia was the executioner of the Croats when they prevailed in both duels: 1-2 at home and 2-0 at Mestalla.
