Viktor Vynnyk and MARY have been on the Ukrainian stage for over twenty-five years. During this time, the musicians released seven albums and filmed many music videos.

But not all recorded songs found a place on the official records. Therefore, it's time to show them to listeners.

Interesting: Ukrainian band TNMK presented the incredible track “Bachish”

For according to Viktor Vinnyk, the first time he got into a professional studio was in 1998, it was a creative workshop band NeMo under the leadership of the late Anatoly Ivanyuk. He was just a guy from the street who writes songs and performs them with his band. He wanted to record some of them in a real studio.

I still remember the state when you stand in front of the microphone for the first time. Not everything was successful, youthful maximalism also contributed to this, but several songs were recorded. Since by no means all radio stations of that time wanted to air the tracks of the young team, these songs never became known to the general public. Time passed, we started releasing official records, but there was a lot of unreleased material, demo versions, etc., – writes Vinnyk.

He remembered that when in the 90s they rehearsed in one from the slums of their city and recorded it on tape. His old friend, now a well-known blogger and public figure, Bohdan Protsyshyn, suggested calling these recordings “Melodies and rhythms of sleeping areas”.

I always liked this title, but it didn't fit with any of the previously released albums. Therefore, I decided to collect everything unpublished for a quarter of a century and put it on the record “Melodies and rhythms of sleeping areas”. This is a very special collection, it is for “own”. For those who have been with us all these years and remember us and themselves in those times. What we were and what we have become. Many of these songs are largely naive, but they are sincere and honest, and this is the most important thing in creativity, said Vinnyk.

To visualize the new work, Viktor Vinnyk and MARY also present a remastered video from 1999 of the year to the song “Now you are an Angel”, which was shot by the team's long-time videographer Oleg Bachynskyi.
