State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin approved the composition of the Expert Council for Economic Development, Vice-Speaker Alexei Gordeev was appointed chairman.
“The Council will give a comprehensive and comprehensive assessment of the most important and priority draft federal laws submitted to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, as well as individual bills prepared for submission to the lower chamber to ensure their compliance with the goals of the country's economic development,” Gordeev told reporters.
The members included the heads of the Duma committees on the budget, economic policy, agrarian issues, natural resources, and the financial market.
In addition, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergey Katyrin, the head of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Alexander Shokhin, the president of Opora Rossii Alexander Kalinin, the rector of the RANEPA Vladimir Mau, and the vice-president of Sberbank (MCX: SBER) Anna Popova also took part in the expert council.
Gordeev emphasized that the expert council will become a permanent advisory body. It will be in charge of issues of strategic planning and regulation of the economy, the development of investment activities, industry, the federal budget.
