Dear VfB members,
I regret that the general meeting of VfB Stuttgart eV has now been scheduled for March 28, 2021. This is not the wish of a large number of the members, not even of over 140 official fan clubs who publicly spoke out against a digital general meeting in March. The same goes for the fan committee as the official organ of VfB, as well as members of the association’s advisory board who wanted an event at a later date.
For this reason, as a representative of the members’ interests, I spoke out against this digital event on March 28, 2021. My proposal to carry out a member survey on this was rejected. I had also advocated a (possibly even face-to-face) meeting at a later point in time: either on September 5, 2021 or, alternatively, in May / June / July 2021, i.e. before the start of the new season – so that VfB then without ” Contaminated sites ”and could have started the new year with a clear view. However, I was outvoted by my two board members.
It was also my concern to publish Esecon’s final report and make it available to all members for inspection as soon as possible. This was the promise of VfB Stuttgart in our declaration of October 13th, 2020: “To inform the members and the public about the results as soon as a reliable evaluation of the processes is possible “. Here, too, I was overruled by my two colleagues on the Presidium. And so the final report cannot be made available to the members up to date as promised. After viewing the Esecon report on the examination of the substantive investigations of the facts of February 1, 21, as well as the legal opinion of the Seitz law firm on February 4, 21, it became clear that various recommendations for action are now in the room.
Finally, I would like to thank the representatives very muchn the internal coordination group, Thomas Hitzlsperger (CEO), Rainer Adrion (Supervisory Board) and Dr. Marc Nicolai Schlecht (Advisory Board). The work of the coordination group is for the area and thus closed until further notice.
With sporty fair and 1893 white and red greetings, I remain very warm,
