The US Embassy in Nairobi said it had received information about threats to several targets in the Somali capital Mogadishu.

One of the locations listed as possible targets is the city's main airport, International Aden Adde Airport, which serves as the base for the African Union mission in Somalia.

Several embassies are also located there, including the United States and other Western countries.

"All movements of embassy staff USA canceled for Tuesday, April 9, 2024",– The State Department's Level 4 (“do not travel”) travel advisory for Somalia remains in effect due to crime, the warning said.

” terrorism, civil unrest, medical problems, kidnapping and piracy"– the report noted.

U.S. citizens are urged to take a number of measures, including reviewing personal safety plans, avoiding large crowds, gatherings and demonstrations, and taking other steps to ensure their safety.

< p>The United States did not specify where the threat comes from.
