WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The Republican-led U.S. Senate will begin considering the COVID-19 economic aid bill and vote this week, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell wrote in a special statement Tuesday.
The new proposal will address “some of the most pressing health, education and economic issues,” he said.
“It does not contain all the ideas that our party likes. I am sure the Democrats feel the same way. However, the Republicans believe that the many serious differences between our parties should not stand in the way of agreeing on where we can agree and passing a law that will help our nation, “McConnell said in a statement.
