< P > According to sources of the publication, the Minister of Defense Pete Hegset managed the Signal installation, a commercial application for exchange of messages, to a desktop computer in his office in Pentagon. & Amp; nbsp;

~ ~ ~ ~ < p >It is reported that Hegset actually “cloned” the Signal app on his personal mobile phone. This step, as reported, has become a reaction to the absence of cellular zob & Rsquo; the latter in most of the Pentagon. Hegset and his assistants were looking for ways to bypass these restrictions and rather coordinate actions with the White House and other high -ranking officials through the encrypted Signal platform.

< P > According to sources, Hegset installed a Signal on computer; Rsquo; RSQUO; This enabled him to communicate with persons outside the military headquarters.

< p > Other assistants, including Joe Casper, then Hegset Chief, also expressed interest in using Signal on Pentagon's computers, but it is unclear how wide the use of the application was. It is also unclear whether Hegset and his team of political advisers of the US law that requires them to preserve such messages.

< P > Sean Parnell, a representative of Hegsset, in his statement said that the use of the Minister of Defense of Systems and Channels is classified, but his office may confirm that Higset “never used and does not use Signal on his government computer.”

Two of the acquaintances with the working habits of Hegset said that he was installed Signal on the second computer in the office. They also added that he was interested in installing a program to send ordinary text messages from the office.
