The United States has not yet completed discussions on the supply of F-16 fighter jets to the Ukrainian military and does not plan to transfer them in the near future.
This was stated by the US Deputy Secretary of Defense for Political to Colin Kahl's briefing.
“It is not inconceivable that in the future Western aircraft could become part of the aid. However, the final analysis of this issue has not been completed,” Kahl said.
Kahl also emphasized that the US is now focused on supplying Ukraine with only those weapons “that are appropriate in the current combat actions".
"We are focusing on these things, and not on what can be delivered in a year, two, three years and so on", added Kahl , answering a question about the transfer of F-16 fighters.
