All eyes are on Donald Trump. Without being cited, the former President of the United States appears more and more as the favorite in next year's elections, benefiting from the best polls of his entire career. Mr. Trump has always been critical of NATO.
Some of his aides like John Bolton have previously stated that Donald Trump already considered withdrawing the United States from NATO during his first term. He would withdraw from the Atlantic Alliance during his second term, Mr Bolton believes.

Mr. Trump's election platform states that if he is re-elected, he will review the NATO mandate.
