The Secretary of State also arrived at the Souda base in Crete. He noted that the permanent deployment of the USS Hershel Woody Williams in the region indicates the intention of the Donald Trump administration to strengthen its presence on the island. Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called on the countries that are members of NATO to resist the influence of Russia in the Mediterranean.
