U.S. Central Command Eager exercises have begun in Jordan Lion 2024, which includes more than 30 other partner nations in addition to its host nation, the Pentagon said.
The eleventh Eager Lion exercise is designed to underscorethe U.S. commitment to interoperability with our partners in region, and sharpen our capabilities to defend against threats from state and non-state actors,”– said Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh.
Exercise Eager Lion is considered the most significant joint exercise between the U.S. and Jordanian militaries.
It will focus on training participating partner countries to promote cooperation and interoperability between armed forces and interagency organizations, according to a Central Command press release about the exercise.
The exercise will last until May 23.
