Environment Canada has issued a warning snowstorm in several areas of southwestern Manitoba on Saturday. These weather conditions are caused by a low pressure system originating from the United States and moving northward.
Winds of up to 80 km are expected in several regions. Also, between 25 to 35 cm of snow is expected in the south overnight from Saturday to Sunday afternoon.
Environment Canada is asking residents of these regions to avoid non-essential travel and wait for weather conditions to improve.
Between 2 and 5 centimeters of snow are expected in these areas overnight Saturday, with gusts of up to 70 km/h. Environment Canada indicates that there could be freezing rain on Sunday morning.
