United States | Most-watched Joe Biden nomination

(New York) The ratings of the first inaugurations of Presidents Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama have been the only ones to exceed those of Joe Biden in the past 40 years.

The Nielsen Company announced that 33.8 million people watched President Biden’s inauguration on 17 television networks between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. last Wednesday.

Mr. Reagan’s celebrations in 1981 drew 41.8 million viewers, and they numbered 37.8 million when Mr. Obama was inaugurated in 2009.

Perhaps the most important piece of information for a former president who is used to following ratings: Mr. Biden’s event turned out to be more popular than that of Donald Trump, in 2017, which had gathered 30.6 million people.

CNN has been the most popular network for viewers, according to Nielsen. In contrast, Fox News’ audience for Joe Biden’s swearing-in and inauguration speech was down 77% from Donald Trump’s event.
