ULA's new launch vehicle made its second test flight

The new powerful Vulcan Centaur launch vehicle from the American company United Launch Alliance (ULA) made its second successful test flight on Friday, October 4.< /p>

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by Space.com.

It is noted that after a series of delays, the "Cert-2" mission launched from the spaceport in Florida at 14:25 Kyiv time.

«Cert-2» was supposed to be the first-ever flight of the Dream Chaser robotic space plane, built by Colorado-based Sierra Space.

However, the private vehicle was not ready in time for the flight, so ULA loaded Vulcan Centaur, in particular, with the company's suite of proprietary instruments to monitor the rocket instead of its customers' cargo.

In total, Vulcan Centaur's second stage performed two lengthy fuel burn processes, as and was scheduled. 

The second part ended about 35 minutes after the launch of the launch vehicle itself. After that, the mission was officially completed.

Currently, the new launch vehicle is in the process of obtaining the necessary certification for its use in US national security missions.
