Connecting smartphones to USB ports in public places exposes users to the risk of hacking, Kazakov believes. When you connect your smartphone to a USB port, fraudsters have the opportunity to install malware. The virus allows fraudsters to steal users' personal data, such as browser history and passwords.

Kozakov stressed that people should be careful if chargers require permission to pair with their phones. He noted that attention should be paid to both the charging stand and the port into which the USB cable is inserted. Timely updating of the operating system and installation of reliable anti-virus software will help protect against hackers.
