Ukrainian women with a medical specialty will not be subject to mandatory mobilization until 2026 – Malyar
Citizens of Ukraine who have a medical specialty will not be subject to mandatory mobilization until 2026, and representatives of other professions — only on a voluntary basis.
This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar on the air of the national telethon. She notes that the government is now adopting changes to the registration system for those liable for military service.
"Until 2026, Ukrainian women who have a medical specialty — the only one for which they may be subject to mobilization will not have mandatory registration. Other professions — only voluntarily", — assures the deputy head of the Ministry of Defense.
Malyar said that about 5 thousand women are now fighting for Ukraine at the front of their own free will. She notes that changes to simplify the conscription system were planned and developed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine even before the start of a full-scale war launched by Russia.
"There is nothing there that would complicate the situation of reservists, conscripts, people, registered. We are talking about simplifying the accounting system", — adds Malyar.
